— Written By

Union County 4-H awarded Madison Evans and Amber Tichenor, both of Southern Ark Explorers, as outstanding 4-Hers at the annual Achievement Night in February.
Madison won the Outstanding Jr. 4-Her Award. She has been in 4-H for two years and serves as vice president of her 4-H club. She has competed in the horse program, submitted entries to the North Carolina State fair, complete project records and presetations. Most importantly this 4-Her is lending a hand to larger service by being involved in numerous community service projects. Most recently, she won an award in the national Make it with Wool competition.
Amber won the Outstanding Sr. 4-Her Award. Amber has been involved in 4-H for 5 years and serves as president of their 4-H Club. She is involved in the horse program, project records and presentations. She is a wonderful example of what a true 4-Her should be– most importanly seen by the willingness to serve others through involvement in numerous community service activities and projects. She recently graduated with honors as a veterinarian technician from Ashworth College.
