— Written By
service project bannerUnion County 4-H is partnering with Council on Aging and Monroe Fire Department to administer fire and fall prevention safety checks for older adults. The organization is seeking 4-Hers (regardless of involvement) and adult volunteers to help with the safety checks. Participants will meet on March 11, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. to carpool for Cotton Street Apartments.
The goal is to check 30 older adults homes. Monroe Fire Department will be there as well to change out smoke detectors, batteries, and install any major repairs. Council on Aging received a donation from Lowe’s for batteries, smoke detectors, and other necessities. For questions, please contact Crystal Starkes, 4-H Agent, at 704.283.3735 or crystal_starkes@ncsu.edu.
