Extension Master Gardener℠ Volunteers of Union County
Calling all Artists and Designers with ties to Union County
July 30 Deadline for submissions for 2018 Heritage Festival and Wild Turkey 5K Logo Design Contest
Monroe, NC – The Union County Heritage Festival Committee is seeking submissions for the 4th annual t-shirt logo design contest. The winning design will be used on the front of the Wild Turkey 5K Trail Run and Walk race t-shirt and the Heritage Festival t-shirt worn by festival volunteers. The contest is open to everyone who lives, works, attends school, or is a member of an art association in Union County, NC. The design must include the text: Union County Heritage Festival Wild Turkey 5K Trail Run/Walk September 22, 2018, and include a fun, animated illustration of a wild turkey.
Prizes for the winning entry include a cash award of $100, two free t-shirts with the winning design, artist’s name on the t-shirt, special recognition in a press release and on the festival website and Facebook. There is no cost to enter. Only one submission per artist. For more information and complete guidelines, please visit the 2018 Heritage Festival website.
The deadline for submissions is July 30, 2018. All designs will be viewed and voted on by members of the Heritage Festival Planning Committee. The winning design should reflect a family-oriented event, be colorful and graphically appealing, have lettering that is easy to read, and above all, have a really fun illustration of a wild turkey. The design will be used on both a white and a colored t-shirt, and be limited to a maximum of 4 colors.
Designs are to be submitted via e-mail as a PDF file. The artist’s name, full mailing address and phone number should be included in the submitting e-mail. If not a resident of Union County, the place of employment, school, or art association affiliated with should be included. Artists will be notified when their submission is received. The winner will be notified the week of August 13.
The Extension Master Gardener℠ Volunteer Association of Union County (UCEMGVA)
The Extension Master Gardener℠ volunteers of Union County annually host the Union County Heritage Festival and Wild Turkey 5K Trail Run and Walk at the Union County Agricultural Center in Monroe. Their mission is to foster a partnership to create a sustainable community through education and implementation. They offer Successful Gardener classes to the public, maintain a website of useful gardening information, monitor a call system called the Growline at 704-283-3822 or ucmgwebsite@gmail.com and offer three Sales events per year.
