The Extension Master Gardener℠ volunteer program is a national program of trained volunteers who work in partnership with their county extension offices to extend research-based information throughout the community. The first Extension Master Gardener volunteer program was started in Washington State in 1972. Forty-six states now have Master Gardener volunteer programs with over 18,000 people participating nationwide and in Canada.
The Extension Master Gardener volunteer program of Madison County provides gardeners with intensive education in horticultural principles. Participants completing training are certified as Master Gardener volunteers.
Master Gardener volunteers provide volunteer leadership and service to their community in gardening activities. This service can consist of answering gardening questions by telephone, conducting plant clinics, beautifying the community, and other activities that promote gardening.

The Extension Master Gardener volunteers of Madison County will meet March 3 – May 5, every Tuesday from 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.
There will be a limit of 15 for the class and you must be a Madison County resident.
Class fee is $100.00 which includes a printed book and name tag.
