Successful Gardener 9/6 & Save the Date – Heritage Festival

Join the Extension Master Gardener℠ volunteers of Union County for their monthly Successful Gardener educational program this Thursday evening, September 6, at 7 p.m. Carol Buie-Jackson will discuss Creating Habitat for Birds & Wildlife in Your Backyard. The program is free and will be held in the classroom at the Union County Agriculture Center.

Mark your calendars now for the upcoming Union County Heritage Festival & Wild Turkey 5K Run & Walk, Saturday, September 22. Presented by the Extension Master Gardener℠ volunteers ofUnion County, in partnership with Union County Public Works, Union County Library, Union County Soil & Water Conservation District, & Litter Busters of Union County. The proceeds of the Heritage Festival support the Extension Master Gardener℠ volunteers’ community education programs.

The Heritage Festival is a free, fun, family event with the mission of sharing information about our natural and cultural heritage. This year’s theme is “Go Native”. There will be educational exhibits aimed at educating children and adults about our native culture, native plants, and wildlife, natural resources, as well as lots of hands-on activities for the kid’s, live music, and a raffle.

Exhibitors and vendors will include lawn and garden vendors, food vendors, environmentally friendly businesses, health and fitness groups, local artisans, local farms, educationally focused exhibitors, and non-profit organizations who do good things for our community.
