4-H specializes in providing programs to help youth discover and develop skills needed for becoming responsible adults in their community and this autumn Union County 4-H is offering a special program designed to assist teenagers to gain confidence in finding their desired career. The event called Beyond the Curve: Career Development Program works through a partnership with the Union County Public Schools Latino Outreach program.

The program includes six sessions with the culmination being a presentation of their career research in front of their families and peers that will expose first-time generation potential college students to career development through research and presentation. As an added bonus, Union County 4-H takes the youth on a college tour to a few local colleges in the area.

Beyond the Curve: Career Development Program is free and open to rising 9th graders and up who are interested in learning about potential careers based on their interest especially in STEM-related career fields. The kick-off for the program is Tuesday, October 23, 2018, at 6 p.m. at the Union County Agriculture Center and will continue until November 8.
