Marcus McFarland – Union County Cooperative Extension Family & Consumer Sciences Agent

Hello, all! My name is Marcus McFarland and I am the new Family and Consumer Sciences Agent for N.C. Cooperative Extension in Union County. My new job focuses on providing the community with education and programming that centers around building healthy and long lives for the Union County community.

You may see me hopping around during the week doing cooking demonstrations, food safety certification training through NC Safe Plates, and even mini-lessons on topics like food preservation.

A little about me: I live in my hometown of Charlotte, NC. I graduated from Appalachian State University (GO ‘NEERS!) in 2014 with a degree in Nutrition and Foods. You’ll find me cooking, traveling, laughing, listening to all sorts of music, and being with friends and family in my spare time. My goal is to be a Registered Dietitian to help the needs for proper nutrition in the community I serve.
