Union County 4-H & Youth Development’s signature event Dancin’ in the Clover is coming soon. On March 16 at the Union County Agricultural Center in Monroe, NC, notable Union County residents will participate in a friendly ballroom dance competition. This year, the event will have local “celebrities” and All-Star contestants who will return back to the dance floor.

Notable celebrities for 2019 are Martha Smith Allen, Corey Cohen, Linda Geer, Jerry Simpson, Christa Tyson, Clara Wiggins, Ellie Bragg Cobb & Lynn Raye, Sharon Hager, Angela Helms, Amanda Price and Jacob Forbis, Daija Sams and Michael Staton, Anita Simpson, and Mark & Jewell Watson. Each celebrity is paired with a professional dance instructor from the area who provides 10 weeks of instruction to help their team try to swing, cha-cha, rhumba, and waltz their way to the coveted Mirror Ball Trophy.

The funds raised at the event will become scholarships for summer camps, leadership building conferences, state conferences, N.C. 4-H Congress, and other opportunities for youth and other youth in Union County who need financial assistance as well as funding for various 4-H programs.

Tickets are $75 and can be purchased in person or the foundation’s website. To learn more, contact the local office at 704.283.3735 or 704.283.3740.
