Each year at N.C. 4-H Congress, 4-H’ers from across the state are inducted into  N.C. 4-H Honor Club. Membership in the N.C. 4-H Honor Club is awarded to 4-H’ers who have demonstrated outstanding leadership and citizenship throughout their 4-H career. According to the N.C. 4-H Honor Club webpage, “the total number of applicants inducted into the N.C. 4-H Honor Club shall be limited to 0.5% of the current enrollment of N.C. 4-H members.” Therefore, being inducted into the N.C. 4-H Honor Club is an honor bestowed upon very few 4-H members.

Molly Carlson, a former Chatham County resident, received the honor of being inducted into the N.C. 4-H Honor Club on the night of Saturday, July 20, 2019. Molly has an extensive background in 4-H, participating in a number of 4-H programs at the county, district, state, and national level. She has participated in 4-H Citizenship Focus, 4-H YouthVoice in both Chatham and Orange Counties, and won first place and Best in Show at NC State Fair for her Junior Honey entries. In addition, she has served as a Wallace Carver Fellowship Delegate with the USDA, a Chatham County 4-H Electric Congress Delegate, and an NC Beekeepers Association Committee member. Molly has done a myriad of cool things that first started in Chatham County with the Lucky Clovers 4-H Club. Chatham County 4-H could not be more proud of Molly and her huge accomplishment. Congratulations!
