The holidays are a time to get together with family and friends to enjoy good food and great company. During this time of the year, there are many parties, dinners, and opportunities to share our holiday dishes. Food is an area where you can actually save money during this time of the year. Here are some great tips:

  • Plan your menu, first.
  • Check your pantry and refrigerator to see what items you already have
  • Grocery store sale ads will have great specials and coupons during this time of year. Clip the coupons that you will need.
  • Compare the prices at various grocery stores to get the best deals. Look at the unit price vs. the sale price and compare the store brand price vs. the national brand price, to make sure that you are truly getting the best buy.
  • Look at the total servings per package and serving size to ensure that you have enough of the product, but not an excessive amount that will be wasted.
