Collapse ▲Parents, are you thinking about activities to keep your young people busy this winter break? For the first time, Union County 4-H will host five workshops for youth to participate in during the day beginning on December 21. The workshops vary from goal setting and vision boards to cooking.
On December 21, DIY Giftmaking will take place for youth between the ages of 8-14 from 10 a.m. to noon. Young people will make hands-on creative gifts for holidays, birthdays, or themselves. The cost is $20 for the workshop.
On December 30, it’s all about vision boards and goal setting. In 4-H, setting goals is an important component for any member. It defines and sets the tone of 4-H members success each year. A vision board is a great visual way for youth to notice their goals and hold them accountable throughout the year. The workshop will take place from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. for youth between the ages of 8 to 14 years old. The cost is $15 for the workshop.
Later that afternoon, Union County 4-H will have an SAT/ACT Prep workshop for teenagers between the ages of 14 to 18 getting ready for standardized testing season. They can learn some tips and tricks to mastering the test in three hours. The cost is $10 for the workshop.
On January 3, we are talking about cooking with young people. Youth will learn basic food safety skills while they cook a meal and snack. Cooking workshops are always a win in 4-H! The cost is $25 for this workshop.
