Flyers and Tyers 4-H Fly Fishing Club at a Fly Fishing Show, Flat Rock, NC.

Do you have a hobby you are very passionate about? Something to do when you want to escape the stress of the day or week?

Greg Charles’ passion is fly fishing. He is able to share that interest with a group of teenagers in the Flyers and Tyers 4-H Fly Fishing Club. This sport covers a lot of information from learning about a variety of insects and their life stages to the weather and how it affects fishing. The members have also practiced tying flies and learning how to cast.

On January 18, the Flyers and Tyers traveled to their first Fly Fishing Show in Flat Rock, NC. The members were able to exchange fly tying knowledge with the Hilltop Fly Tyers by tying a variety of flies and learning how to tie new flies. One of the members won a door prize, a fly fishing reel/rod and some flies tied by the Hilltop Fly Tyers.

This was a great experience for everyone.
