Hey everyone! Are you looking forward to the summer sun and camp fun? Then you are ready to sign up for the Union County 4-H’s Summer Fun Day Camp Program! This year is unique because we are offering both virtual and face-to-face camps for youth ages 5-18 in a safe and inclusive environment. We have a great lineup with new and old camp topics including the Act it Out Theater Camp, STEM Bytes Robotics, BBQ Bootcamp, Animal Adventures, and more!
The need for a summer camp experience this year is great with all the isolation and change youth have experienced throughout the past year. Summer camp is known to teach independence and essential life skills, provide fun screen-free activities, promote growth in a safe environment, and more. Union County 4-H is meeting this need with this annual program. While the format of the camps may have changed, the same hands-on and interactive activities will happen.
Several partners will be involved in the creation of these camps including Union County Soil and Water Conservation District, Master Gardener℠ volunteers in Union County, 4-H Teen Members, and N.C. Cooperative Extension staff. They will share their expertise in their respective fields so youth can gain the most educational experience possible.
