If you have a child that loves animals, the Union County 4-H staff have several awesome 2021 summer camp opportunities for them.

Mentoring 4-H

For the cloverbuds, for ages 5-7, we have a Day on the Farm. Campers will get the chance to meet on a goat dairy farm, learn about how we take care of animals, watch a milking demonstration, and see what kinds of cool products we make from goat’s milk. Campers will also get to see a certified wildlife habitat and learn about what animals need for a suitable habitat. This is a great chance to get outdoors and get hands-on with animals. This will be held on July 23, from 9 a.m.–noon.

For the 8-13-year-olds, we have a weeklong camp called Animal Adventures. This camp will feature different types of animals including pets, livestock, wildlife, and even bees and worms! We will have many guests come visit with us including a beekeeper, a K9 officer, and a wool spinner. There will be lots of demos, hands-on activities, and fun animal guests too. This camp will be June 21–25 and will meet from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. each day.

Space is limited for these camps so be sure to sign up soon. We will be following all proper sanitation and safety practices to ensure this a safe and fun experience for everyone involved.
