“These recipes were thoughtfully selected and submitted by 4-H’ers across the country as well as 4-H alumni and supporters, to share with you,” says Carla Hall. “As a 4-H Healthy Habits Program Ambassador, it’s inspiring to work with such incredible 4-H youth, who encourage young people and their communities to develop a lifetime of healthy living skills.”

National 4-H Council has released a cookbook with delicious healthy living recipes, and families can access all the recipes online.

What’s better than cooking at home? Making meals that are both inspired and easy to make. This collection of recipes from the 4-H community hits those marks on every page.

Featuring nearly 50 recipes from 4-H’ers, supporters, and 4-H alumni — including celebrity chef, author, and Tennessee 4-H alumna Carla Hall — the Fresh Chefs digital cookbook includes healthy everyday recipes and celebratory dishes for youth and families to enjoy.

Fresh Chefs was made possible by generous support from the Walmart Foundation.

Below is a cooking demonstration by celebrity chef, media personality, and Tennessee 4‑H alumna Carla Hall. She is making oven-smothered chicken. The video premiered in May 2020.

Carla Hall and some 4-H members from Virginia and Tennessee also had a blast making a music video about healthy living. Check it out!

The third and last video, below, shares a smoothie recipe from the Fresh Chefs cookbook that families can try at home. It features National 4-H Council CMO Artis Stevens and his daughters, who are 4-H members. The video premiered in July 2020.
