Venison Jerky Class is BACK! Did you miss last year’s class or looking for a refresher?

Join Hyde County’s FCS agent to learn the proper way to prepare venison jerky and dehydrate meat . This will be an in-person, hands-on class with practice of knife skills to slice meat for jerky, preparing the marinade, and using a dehydrator for drying meat.

You do not need to live in Hyde County to participate, though the class will be held at the Hyde County Government Center. Registration is FREE. Limited to 12 participants.

Class will be held Wednesday, December 8, 2021, 10 a.m. –12:30 p.m., in the Teaching Kitchen within the government center building. Class size is limited to 12 participants.

*Please note: TheWild Game Food Safety – From Field to Table (Virtual Recording)” is required to be “attended” and viewed before moving on to in-person processing classes. This video was taught and recorded in September 2020. After registered, you will be sent a YouTube link to this recording along with a short survey that covers the main points addressed. If you attended this class in 2020, you do not need to retake it. Register for this food safety class
