Description: Join Horticulture Extension Agent, Debbie Dillion, to learn how you can create your compost. Take those vegetable scraps and other kitchen waste and combine with yard waste and other carbonaceous material to make compost, while reducing the amount of waste you send to the landfill. Participants will learn about ratios of green to brown, what can and cannot be composted, how to build a proper compost pile, and trouble-shooting compost production problems. Other soil amendments and their pros and cons will also be discussed. Get your hands in the “dirt” so to speak with examples of compost and other soil amendments that you can see and feel.

The workshop costs $10 per person. Registration and fee is required by February 26, 2019.
