If you work in a food-service establishment such as a restaurant, hospital kitchen, or school cafeteria and are interested in taking a Food Protection Manager course, North Carolina Cooperative Extension – Union County Center will hold the NC Safe Plates for Food Managers this June!

This course helps to meet the requirement in North Carolina of having at least one certified food protection manager in a food establishment, per the 2017 FDA Food Code. This interactive course is filled with hands-on activities and case studies to help understand best safety practices regarding personal hygiene, preventing cross-contamination of foods, and handling allergens. Once the course is completed, participants will take an ANSI-approved exam for Food Protection Manager Certification that is accepted throughout the United States for up to five years.
