North Carolina Cooperative Extension – Union County Center will be holding another Safe Plates for Food Managers course for the Winter Season! This course helps to meet the requirement in North Carolina of having at least one certified food protection manager in a food establishment, per the 2017 FDA Food Code.
This interactive course is filled with hands-on activities and case studies to help understand best safety practices when it comes to topics such as personal hygiene, preventing cross-contamination of foods, and handling allergens. Once the course is completed participants will take an ANSI-approved exam for Food Protection Manager Certification that is accepted throughout the United States for up to five years.
The course will be from December 9th – 11th with the exam being held on December 12th. The cost of the class is $150 which includes class book and exam materials. Cash, Check, and Card* payments are accepted. The registration deadline for this course is November 25th.
If you work in a foodservice establishment such as a restaurant, hospital kitchen, or a school cafeteria and are interested in taking the course for certification this December, you can register at our Safe Plates for Food Managers Registration site or print and fill out the Registration Form here.
