The Union County office offers various equipment and tools that can be rented by the public. Below is the list of items available for rental, the associated fees, and any necessary rental agreements.

Soil Probe

The soil probe is used to collect soil samples to be analyzed. This can be used in lawns, gardens, pastures, and crop fields. There is no fee for renting the probe, and the rental period is for a maximum of 5 days. Give the office a call or stop by to ask about renting the soil probe. For more information about soil sampling, visit our soil kit page.

Hay Probe

The hay probe is used to collect a core sample from round and square bales. This method collects a more representative sample than collecting grab samples. The probe attaches to a handheld drill that you must provide. There is no fee for renting the probe, and the rental period is for a maximum of 3 days. For more information about collecting a hay sample and to schedule a time to pick up the probe, contact Rachel Owens.
