Debt management is a necessary but challenging task when working towards financial freedom and literacy. This can include planning to pay down a credit card, pay off a car or a house. What has become the most common debt management challenge is paying off student loans. One great way involves your work in public service in the community. Through the Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) Program, many who currently work or looking to work in public service can use their years of employment in this sector for forgiving student loan debt. With recent changes to the program, more public service employees are qualified for access to this program. Some examples of public service employment are government, non-profit, early childhood education, public services positions, and many more! For more information on the PSLF program, be sure to check out the US Department of Education website at ed.gov.
