Spring and summer are on the way. This means warm weather and fun programs with Family and Consumer Sciences. Check out some of the upcoming programs from March to June at N.C. Cooperative Extension  – Union County Center.

We will have a Life Improvements through Fitness Together (LIFT) program in March! This is a 16-session crash course on workouts that can help get our older adults of Union county moving! For more information, visit our registration page. Registration is open today! Deadline is February 24th.

In May, we will be holding our Canning 101 Home Food Preservation Series. Come and learn the effective and safe ways to can your food. You might even get some great hands-on experience! Morning classes and a new accelerated weekend course will be available. Registration opens on February 17th, more information to com.

Safe Plates Logo Red-BlackIn June we will be holding our Safe Plates for Food Managers Course. This is a 12-hour course that offers a unique and interactive way to understand best food safety practices for foodservice management. Students are able to take the certification exam following the class to become a certified food protection manager, a requirement of each foodservice establishment in North Carolina. Registration opens on February 27th, more information to come.
