Union County 4-H Pumpkin Decorating Contest

Get ready for a spooktacular time at our first-ever Pumpkin Decorating Contest!

This year, we invite all Union County 4-H members to showcase their creativity by decorating pumpkins. Please note that only decorations are allowed—no carving. Feel free to use paints, ribbons, markers, cotton balls, and other craft supplies to make your pumpkin stand out.

Contest Rules:

Registration: Sign up on 4-H Online by October 10 to participate.
Decorating: Pumpkins must be decorated at home by the 4-H'er.
Eligibility: Each 4-H'er can enter only one pumpkin.
Pumpkin: Any type or size of pumpkin is welcome.
Submission: Email a photo of your decorated pumpkin to 4-H Agent Autumn at aebaucom@ncsu.edu by October 20.
Judging Date: Judging will take place on October 25.
Fan Favorite Voting: Voting on social media will be held from October 28 to October 30.
Results: Winners and the Fan Favorite will be announced on October 31.

Age Divisions

Cloverbuds (5-7)
Junior (8-10)
Intermediate (11-13)
Senior (14-18)

Ages are determined as of January 1, 2024.

Awards will be given to the top entries in each age group, with awards for first place and runner-up in the Junior, Intermediate, and Senior categories. All Cloverbuds will receive participation awards. Judging will be done anonymously, without knowing the 4-H'ers' names.

Additionally, photos of all decorated pumpkins will be posted on Union County 4-H's social media for the Fan Favorite vote.
