Interested in preserving fresh produce at home? Come learn the safe and delicious art of canning with Union County Cooperative Extension during our 2025 Canning Series! Held on Tuesday's in September from 12 PM to 3 PM at the Union County Agricultural Center in the Demo Kitchen in Monroe, NC. This hands-on workshop series is perfect for beginners and seasoned canners alike.

  • Sept. 9 – Introduction to Canning (FREE): Learn the basics of safe home food preservation.

  • Sept. 16 – Water Bathing Tomatoes ($20): Practice using a water bath canner to preserve tomatoes.

  • Sept. 23 – Pressure Canning Carrots ($20): Learn to use a pressure canner to safely process low-acid foods.
