November is National Diabetes Month. Over 30 million adults, aged 18 and older in the United States, are living with diabetes, with over 84 million with pre-diabetes. N.C. Cooperative Extension in Union County is partnering with the Minority Diabetes Prevention Program to offer an upcoming program on ways to prevent, or delay, the onset of Type 2 Diabetes. This class will begin on Thursday, November 4, 2021, via Zoom! The Journey to a Healthier Me Program includes: nutrition education, cooking demos, and exercise classes; skills to lose weight, increase exercise and manage stress; a lifestyle coach to guide and encourage you; and support for other people with the same goals as you. Not to mention, participants will receive rewards!

This program, which is valued at $425, is being provided at NO COST to participants! Complimentary A1C testing is provided at a LabCorp near you so that you know your risk of developing diabetes. To register, visit Journey to a Healthier Me, or call 704-920-1255.
