Collapse ▲During our True Leaders in 4-H segment, we recognize different Union County 4-H members who have shown what it means to be a leader in the 4-H program. This week, we highlight Madison Evans. Madison has been a part of the 4-H program for 9 years and is a member of the Southern Ark Explorers and 4-H Teen Council 4-H Clubs. Madison is also a member of the 4-H Honor Club and has co-led a workshop for NC 4-H Congress. In her spare time, she enjoys riding horses, painting and drawing, and spending time with her family. Read below to learn more about Madison.
What is your favorite component of the 4-H Program? That you can do anything and learn anything that you want.
What does 4-H mean to you? 4-H means growing and learning who you are and what you stand for. You’re always going to meet new friends.
What is your most memorable 4-H moment? Going to Japan in the NC 4-H International States Exchange Program.
What makes you a True Leader in 4-H? Nothing. Everyone’s a leader in their own way. Everyone is good at something. What makes a good leader is listening to people, taking their advice, criticism and knowledge, then using it to benefit other people.
If you were an animal, what would you be and why? A wolf so I can just run in the forest and be free. Living within the giant mountains.
