Father and daughter walking on beach

July 7, 2020, is National Father-Daughter Take a Walk Day! While every day should be a day of fathers and daughters bonding and making memories, this special day has been nationally recognized specifically for this purpose.

Regardless of your age, this is a great opportunity to get outdoors and enjoy a father-daughter stroll. Walking outdoors can be a good way to exercise and relax through conversation.

Before walking, it is a good idea to plan your route. This will not take long to do because usually, our walking routes are familiar spaces. Make sure you both have comfortable walking shoes and water to stay hydrated. You don’t have to walk very far to have a positive impact. As you walk, choose the age-appropriate conversation and enjoy the moment. If you are like me, and it is not possible to take a walk with your dad, think of your dad, while you take a walk and remember some of the great conversations that you had together.
