Union County Heritage Festival, Things to Do Near Charlotte, Things to do this Weekend in NC, North Carolina Events, Fun things to do in Charlotte, Things to do in Union County, Union County North Carolina, Family Fun Events NC, The Wild Turkey 5K and the Union County Heritage Festival is held at the Union County Agriculture Center on Saturday, September 17. The Wild Turkey 5K kicks off the day at 8:00 a.m. and the Heritage Festival goes from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. There will be a variety of live music, food trucks,  exhibitors,  vendors, plants for sale, educational and creative activities for kids and adults, story time in the garden, garden talks & tours, fabulous raffle prizes, and more!

The Heritage Festival is free, thanks to our sponsors, Wingate University, EP Productions, Union Power Cooperative, Union County Parks & Recreation, and others too numerous to mention. It’s not too late to register, if you want to participate in the Wild Turkey 5K Trail Run and Walk. You can continue to sign up and participate until September 17. You can choose to participate in person or you can run anywhere. For more information visit the Union County Heritage Festival website. All funds raised from the Wild Turkey 5K go to support Carolina Waterfowl Rescue.

If you want to see farm animals and kids in action, Union County 4-H will be hosting the 4-H Expo at the Simpson Events Center adjacent to the Agriculture Center at the same time as the Heritage Festival. They will have cows, goats, and sheep, 4-H Club booths, and more.
