The Union County 4-H Teen Leadership & Council is a dynamic, teen-led program designed for youth ages 12–18 to cultivate leadership skills, engage in civic activities, and represent the voice of Union County’s 4-H youth. Through monthly meetings, event planning, and community involvement, members play a pivotal role in shaping the 4-H experience for themselves and their peers.
Program Highlights:
- Monthly Meetings: Held on Thursday evenings in Monroe, these sessions focus on leadership development, event coordination, and community service planning.
- Event Planning: Members organize key 4-H events such as Achievement Night and the 4-H Expo, gaining hands-on experience in logistics, public speaking, and team collaboration.
- Youth Representation: Teen Council members serve as liaisons between the youth and adult leaders, ensuring that the perspectives and ideas of young members are considered in county-level decisions.
- Civic Engagement: Participation in local government meetings and community service projects fosters a sense of civic responsibility and provides real-world insights into public affairs.
- Leadership Development: Opportunities to attend district and state events, such as the Teen Retreats and 4-H Congress, allow members to network, learn, and grow as leaders.
