The North Carolina 4-H Electric Congress is an annual educational event that brings together youth from across the state to explore the world of electricity and energy. Coordinated by the North Carolina Cooperative Extension Service and the Department of Biological and Agricultural Engineering at NC State University, the event recognizes excellence in the 4-H Electric Program.
Union County Participation:
Union County 4-H actively participates in the Electric Congress by selecting delegates who have demonstrated outstanding work in electric-related projects. These delegates are chosen based on their involvement in local 4-H electric projects or project record books. In previous years, Union County has successfully sent delegates to represent the county at the Electric Congress, providing them with opportunities to engage in hands-on learning and connect with peers from across the state.
Program Highlights:

Educational Workshops: Participants engage in hands-on activities such as soldering, circuit building, and assembling electric kits.

Career Exploration: Youth have the opportunity to learn about careers in the energy industry through career fairs and interactions with professionals.
