In North Carolina, we’re gearing up growing delicious fruits such as strawberries, blueberries, and peaches. Now is a great time to learn the different ways to preserve them by canning! N.C. Cooperative Extension in Union County is hosting a Sweet Spread Short Course to teach our community about making jams, jellies, and preserves with your sweet treats this spring! This class offers the community best food safety practices for making delicious treats whether for yourself, your friends, or your family. Sessions are $10 which includes materials for hands-on canning and take-home information. There are two sessions offered: 

Session 1

Date:  Wednesday, June 1, 2022

Time: 10:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.

Session 2

Date:  Thursday, June 2, 2022

Time: 3:00 p.m.  – 5:30 p.m.
